Smoke Stack Steakhouse shame vengeful customer, spark debate

March 13, 2013 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

On Facebook the Smoke Stack Steakhouse and Bar have whisked up a debate by responding to a 1/5 Trip Advisor review. The review, titled “Embarrassed!”, is from a customer who complains her party was not served drinks because the bar claimed they were drunk.

How did the Smoke Stack respond? They bundled an image of that review along with the same (it is assumed) customer’s Facebook post bragging about the mount of drink she had had.

The debate is whether whether this was a good move. Many just see the funny side but the Smoke Stack point out the review will cost them points and exposure on Trip Advisor. This will impact business. Others are critical of Smoke Stack for their move, suggesting it makes them look petty and that they should have thicker skin.

What do you think?
