Review: CCTV, Fringe 2023

August 23, 2023 by Bronwen Winter Phoenix Leave a Comment

Fiona Walker is a drama school graduate who needs to choose a path in life – and teaching really doesn’t suit her, neither does becoming a lawyer (apparently the only two main choices) so… corporate world here she comes!

A review of Paddy Young: Hungry, Horny, Scared, Fringe 2023

August 22, 2023 by Guest Reviewer Leave a Comment

Paddy starts weak but finds his pace with witty commentary on living with strangers, property, trauma, Hitler, and more. He has the energy, confidence, and skills to entertain crowds.

Tutu is a therapeutic experience for anyone who feels confined by expectations. The show seamlessly blends slapstick comedy and philosophical insights, achieving its ambitious goals with flying colours.

Review of Shamilton! The Improvised Hip Hop Musical, Fringe 2023

August 20, 2023 by Bronwen Winter Phoenix 1 Comment

A Review of One Night with Marilyn, Fringe 2023

August 17, 2023 by Bronwen Winter Phoenix Leave a Comment

I wasn’t sure what to expect from One Night with Marilyn but when I was very kindly invited along to Isabella Bliss’s show, and how was a girl to say no? Well, this girl was very glad she didn’t!

A Review of Shenanigans Cabaret, Fringe 2023

August 17, 2023 by Bronwen Winter Phoenix Leave a Comment

Ahh, I’ve missed proper cabaret – where you get a real variety of acts. A lot of it (at least in Edinburgh) seems to have gravitated towards purely burlesque, so this was going to be a real treat.
