About Bronwen Winter Phoenix

Known as the female John Wick of content, Bronwen Winter Phoenix is determined, prolific, and won’t stop ‘til the job is done… but is still not impervious to being hit by the odd car. She gets by as an Edinburgh-based artist, illustrator, Galaxy Award-nominated author, and ex-journalist.

Also known as; B-winnie Bookbags, Capt. Feral Phoenix, Stepmother of Dragons, the Sunburnt, and Teller of Tall Tales. With more dresses than sense, a Bronwen at rest cannot be stopped. She’s making gravy without the lumps.

Bringing together over 30 works by Joan Eardley, alongside paintings from the national collection, The Nature of Painting is an exhibition you won’t want to miss at the Modern Two – but there’s one Eardley painting that’s not currently on display, and has in fact recently been rediscovered.

Review of [UN]LOVEABLE: A work in progress performance @ Traverse Theatre

February 15, 2026 by Bronwen Winter Phoenix Leave a Comment

Birdy made it down to the Traverse Theatre once again, this time to partake in not one, not two… but FIVE work-in-progress performances from the Not So Nice! Theatre Company. Its name? [UN]LOVEABLE. I was really hyped for [UN]LOVEABLE, a pre-Valentine’s Day show taking place on Friday 13th – because, why not?! With bizarre breakups, […]
