Join in the fun with festivals in Edinburgh
During the month of August, Edinburgh is home to some of the biggest and most renowned festivals in the world; Edinburgh International Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Edinburgh International Film Festival, and Edinburgh Book Festival.
Tourists flock from around the world to attend some of the most prestigious, weird, whacky and exciting events you'll find. There are performers on the streets, and almost every single pub and club is turned into a venue for the Fringe. We're big fans, but it can also feel like a lot when you haven't experienced it before.
Luckily, there are handy brochures and all the information you'll need is online - from high-ticket, exclusive and limited-run shows, to free Fringe shows where you can just turn up on the night, and only pay what you feel like. There's something for everyone, and we're here to cover as much of it as humanly possible!

Review of Kate Smurthwaite: Severe Lacerations to the Head, Fringe 2025
Kate talks about the state of the world, and how she – and the rest of us – are getting through it. With laughs, and a bit of direction when it comes to what the f*ck to do about it.

Review: Encounter, Fringe 2025
Wearing a tin foil hat, I was taken on a hilarious intergalactic adventure with “Encounter: A Space Cabaret.” This sci-fi musical comedy is a delightful and unique Fringe gem that perfectly blends fun with surprising depth. Highly recommended!
Review: Lovett, Fringe 2025
BoonDog Theatre’s “Lovett” is a hardcore, dark psychological thriller that offers a fresh take on the Mrs Lovett character. The one-woman show, in the Pleasance Courtyard cellar, is an intense look at a villain’s history and a must-see for fans of Sweeney Todd.
Review: Hot Mess, Fringe 2025
Hot Mess is a clever, funny, and heartfelt musical that entertains while offering a fresh perspective on love and our relationship with the planet.
