Join in the fun with festivals in Edinburgh

During the month of August, Edinburgh is home to some of the biggest and most renowned festivals in the world; Edinburgh International Festival, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Edinburgh International Film Festival, and Edinburgh Book Festival.

Tourists flock from around the world to attend some of the most prestigious, weird, whacky and exciting events you'll find. There are performers on the streets, and almost every single pub and club is turned into a venue for the Fringe. We're big fans, but it can also feel like a lot when you haven't experienced it before.

Luckily, there are handy brochures and all the information you'll need is online - from high-ticket, exclusive and limited-run shows, to free Fringe shows where you can just turn up on the night, and only pay what you feel like. There's something for everyone, and we're here to cover as much of it as humanly possible!

Review: Vittorio Angelone: you can’t Say Nothing any more, Fringe 2025

August 19, 2025 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Vittorio Angelone delivers a brilliant and brave performance, tackling “culture war” topics with nuance and razor-sharp wit. He questions whether comedians have a duty to speak out, using his own unique perspective to craft a show that is both deeply personal and universally relevant.

Review: A Tribute to the Band, Fringe 2025

August 19, 2025 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Forget the band; this is a Discworld musical! Cazz Regan’s performance is a loving, funny, and acoustic journey into fantasy, complete with witty footnotes. A show for fans of Pratchett and clever music.

Review: A Bad Taste Show, Fringe 2025

A tightly-run 45-minute comedy sketch show based on ‘bad taste’ jokes and scenarios.

If you’re looking for some classic American musical cabaret performances, Come to the Cabaret is the right show for you.

Review: Jo Caulfield – Bad Mood Rising, Fringe 2025

August 17, 2025 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

A bad mood never felt so good! Jo Caulfield, an Edinburgh local, expertly balances humour and anger in her show Bad Mood Rising. She’s got a loyal following for a reason: her caustic wit and relatable anecdotes are simply brilliant. Highly recommended.

Review: STARDUST Starring Star Dust (In Person), Fringe 2025

August 17, 2025 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Looking for a show that’s truly “Fringe”? STARDUST Starring Star Dust is a delightfully weird and interactive character comedy. From its gilded star to a lampshade-wearing keyboardist, this show is a chaotic and hilarious antidote to the mundane.

Review: A Dram Is Worth A Thousand Words, Fringe 2025

August 17, 2025 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

This is a highly recommended and cost-effective show for anyone curious about Scotch whisky. It’s an educational, interactive, and value-for-money experience that’s more than just a tasting.

Review: Ha, Fringe 2025

August 17, 2025 by Bronwen Winter Phoenix Leave a Comment

A one-woman performance that’s evocative, deeply disturbing, and uncomfortable – it packs a punch. Not for the faint of heart!
