Bucks Bar on Grindlay Street gets a top rating. While the Hanover St branch is moodier, Grindlay St wins on food. Expect huge, spicy buttermilk chicken burgers, sweet potato fries, and a fun vibe with friendly, busy staff. Save room for the cheesecake!

The Chanter is a reliable sports bar, perfect for a quick, “cost-effective” bite before a cinema trip. Food is “pretty good” (try the mac & cheese), but the venue is noisy and the QR code menu is frustratingly incomplete.

The Mirror Crack’d (1980) returns in a stunning 4K UHD release. Angela Lansbury’s Marple investigates a Hollywood-infused murder. The restoration is superb, making this all-star classic a fantastic movie to watch all over again.

A reliable choice on Lothian Road, the Innis & Gunn Taproom is perfect for a quick pre-theatre meal. It offers efficient table service, hearty pub grub like a great value Steak Frites deal, and a wide selection of both I&G and local guest beers.
Review: Volcano Falls – Fountain Park
Volcano Falls is a roaring good time. This “evil temple” themed crazy golf is immersive and fun, with animatronic dinos and great obstacles. It’s let down by crowds and a total lack of accessibility, but otherwise highly recommended.
