A Review of Mojo and Jimmy: The Totally Awesome Magic Show, Fringe 2025

August 24, 2025 by Guest Reviewer Leave a Comment

Mojo and Jimmy: The Totally Awesome Magic Show is a light, funny jungle adventure where a cheeky monkey and a talking tomato deliver genuinely impressive tricks and plenty of laughs. A hit with kids and surprisingly clever for adults too – colourful, silly, and totally awesome family fun.

The story

The show takes us on a jungle adventure with Mojo the monkey, who must find magical items to save his home. He’s joined by Jimmy, a tomato with a cheeky personality that children instantly warmed to.

Their playful partnership drives the story, mixing audience interaction with light humour and fast-paced energy.

The magic

What stands out is the variety of magic on display. From vanishing props to clever sleight-of-hand and bigger set pieces, the tricks feel fresh and inventive.

As a parent, I found myself genuinely impressed, spotting routines I hadn’t seen before in a children’s show. The magic is skilfully woven into the storyline, keeping the audience curious about what might happen next.

Comedy and characters

Mojo and Jimmy are a delightfully silly duo. The monkey’s mischief, paired with the absurdity of a talking tomato, delivered constant laughter from the young crowd.

There’s plenty of slapstick and cheeky jokes, but also sharp timing that kept adults entertained too.

Family appeal

This production hits the sweet spot for family entertainment. It’s colourful, funny, and easy for children to follow, while offering enough genuine magic to keep grown-ups engaged.

My son said afterwards that it was “very fun,” and judging by the laughter in the room, he wasn’t alone. It’s light, pacy, and never loses its spark.

Overall

Mojo and Jimmy: The Totally Awesome Magic Show is an all round good show, full of clever tricks (including plenty I hadn’t seen before) and packed with silliness that kept the kids giggling throughout.

A fun, light-hearted jungle adventure that entertains the whole family. Would watch again!
