Bleep Bleep! is a show about a hilarious man & his robot.
This show was such a lovely surprise and something completely different from the other children’s shows we’ve seen. It’s a wordless mini play about a man and his robot, told through physical comedy, movement and incredibly clever live sound effects.
There were two Dutch actors performing, and they were fantastic. Even without speaking, they managed to tell the whole story through their expressions, movements and interactions. The robot was so convincing that Remy, my little boy genuinely thought he was a real robot — he was that good!
A real highlight was the man at the side of the stage creating all the sounds live. He used things like coconuts and wooden blocks to create incredibly realistic sound effects, from footsteps and movement to sleeping and snoring. It was so clever watching him create the sounds right in front of us, and he was incredibly talented. The sound effects really enhanced the performance and made the whole thing feel much more realistic.
It was almost like watching a little mini play unfold, rather than a typical children’s show. There was a proper story, lots of humour and some really clever moments, but it was still easy for the children to follow because everything was communicated through the action.
Remy’s verdict
Remy laughed the whole way through, which is always the best sign! He was completely captivated by the robot and genuinely believed he was an actual robot, which made it even more magical for him.
The physical comedy was brilliant, and because there was no talking, you could just watch what was happening and enjoy it. There were lots of little moments that had the children laughing, and the live sound effects made everything even funnier.
I particularly loved watching the sound effects being created. Seeing the performer use such simple things as coconuts and wooden blocks to make sounds that were so realistic was fascinating. The sleeping and snoring noises were especially funny, and it really showed how much skill went into the performance.
The two Dutch actors were brilliant, but the sound-maker deserves a special mention too. He was just as talented as the actors and added so much to the overall experience. It was amazing how he could create such realistic sounds using simple objects, and it made the whole show feel so much more immersive.
I also really liked that it was something different. After seeing lots of puppets, magic and more traditional children’s shows, Bleep Bleep! felt really fresh. It was more like a proper little theatre production, but still had plenty of silly and funny moments to keep the children entertained.
Overall
A 5-star show for us and definitely one I would recommend if you’re looking for something a little different at the Fringe.

The fact that Remy genuinely thought the actor was a real robot says everything about how convincing the performance was. He was completely absorbed in it and laughed throughout.I also loved that it wasn’t just another typical children’s show. It felt creative, clever and really theatrical, while still being funny and accessible for children.
The live sound-maker was a particular highlight for me. Watching him use coconuts, wooden blocks and other simple objects to create footsteps, sleeping, snoring and all the little sounds that brought the story to life was incredibly clever. He was every bit as talented as the two actors and really helped make the show what it was.
What stands out most is how confidently the show leans into simplicity. With no spoken words and minimal props, it still manages to feel full, funny and completely engaging. The blend of physical humour and inventive sound design creates a gentle, absorbing atmosphere that keeps young audiences focused from start to finish.
Most importantly, Remy absolutely loved it. A really unique, funny and imaginative show that we both thoroughly enjoyed.

Summary
A playful, imaginative slice of children’s theatre built entirely on movement, visual storytelling and handcrafted sound. Instead of dialogue, the performers rely on sharp physical comedy and expressive character work to guide the audience through a simple but engaging storyline. The robot’s lifelike behaviour becomes the centrepiece of the show, creating a sense of wonder that pulls children in immediately.
