The Leith Jazz and Blues festival 2012

June 8, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

The Carriers Quarters (pictured) is one of a dozen or so Leith venues supporting this year’s Leith Jazz and Blues festival.

The three day programme runs from June 15th to June 17th and will feature the likes of Wendy Weatherby, Tom Findlay, Hamish MacGregor, Dougie Urquhart, Ged Brockie, Black Diamond Express, Barry Gordon Blues Explosion, Kenny Ellis & Lachlan McColl, Guilty as Sin, Dick Lee and The Misses many more.

Flyers for the festival have begun to appear around Leith. Along with the Carriers Quarters other venues supporting the three day event are Malt & Hops, IsoBar, Constitution, Bond No 9, The Granary, Shebeen, Port o’ Leith, The Shore, The Pond, MAlmaision, Sofi’s, Nobles and the Compass Bar.

There is a Twitter account at @LeithJazzFest but most of the activity and communication seems to be happening at Facebook.

It’s not immediately clear who the organisers are (one beauty of Facebook pages is annoymous admin) bit the Leith Jazz and Blues festival website is on the same server as Neil Warden.com an Edinburgh based graphic designer and guitar player.
