I’ve an excuse to review one of my favourite bakers in Edinburgh, a city filled with great bakeries, so let’s talk about Tasty Buns.
Review: Plant Bae, a plant-based cafe on Easter Road
A charming pink and green cafe with a clear plant-based foodie focus. Plant Bae is one of the surprisingly common jewels on Easter Road and is absolutely worth visiting.
Girdy & Birdy Review: Mimi’s Bakehouse, Market Street
Mimi’s Bakehouse on Market Street offers a great selection of sandwiches, all-day brunch and sweet treats! It’s a great little pick-me-up, and always a pleasure.

Tasty, super-fresh and entirely plant-based food (although you might struggle to accept some of the “fakes” are “fake”) sold in an impressively clean, well run and friendly shop. Visit.
A review of Kilted Donut, a donut shop on Great Junction Street
Tasty donuts, in a handy location and with great opening hours. Expect fresh hits with lovingly decorated and attractive donuts. Wash them down with some good coffee too. Lovely!

A review of Licks Cake Design, perfection in a cupcake box
Some delicious cupcakes! Simple, elegant and delightful. These came fresh, with the baker braving the rain to deliver to me, and now I’m plotting my own birthday cake.
