Review: The Ultimate Bubble Show, Fringe 2025

Kirsten McLeod went along to The Ultimate Bubble show; a whimsical, high energy celebration of bubbles.

The Ultimate Bubble Show delivers exactly what it promises, a whimsical, high energy celebration of bubbles in all shapes and sizes – even square. From the moment it begins, the stage is filled with colourful lights and an impressive variety of bubble effects.

The show features everything from enormous floating bubbles to delicate smoke-filled bubbles, and even bubbles inside bubbles offering a visually captivating experience that kept children fully engaged. The bubble artistry on display is imaginative and well executed, creating plenty of fun moments throughout.

Audience participation & performance

A key part of the show’s appeal is its interactive element. Audience participation throughout, with children invited on stage as willing volunteers, which helps to maintain excitement and involvement. These moments were clearly a highlight for many young audience members.

While only older children were asked to take part directly, younger ones still seemed fully absorbed in the spectacle which was great. The performer brought strong comedic timing and a warm, energetic presence that helped to keep the tone fun and definitely lighthearted. There was a good balance between performance and participation, with plenty of opportunities for laughter from all ages.

Pacing & age suitability

This is a joyful, family friendly production that is visually entertaining and fun to watch. It’s particularly suitable for children aged four and up, as the structure of the show and the interactive elements seem best suited to that age range.

At times, the pacing felt slightly slow, and a few sections didn’t quite line up with the voiceover narration, which disrupted the flow. However, these were minor issues in an otherwise enjoyable experience.
