Jurys Inn brings a Greek love god to Edinburgh

February 9, 2016 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Valentine’s Day is coming up and Jurys Inn are using a webcomic to suggest Edinburgh as one the best places in the UK to propose in.

John wants to propose to Jen but doesn’t know where to start. Cue Anteros, the Greek god of requited love, who takes John on a tour of some of the most romantic spots in the UK.

Where does he pick for Edinburgh? He picks Arthur’s Seat.

You can read the full webcomic over JurysInns.com.

Edinburgh Reviews asked Jurys Inn why they had picked the city and Arthur’s Seat. A spokesman told me;

… the magnificent Arthur’s Seat in Holyrood Park just outside of Edinburgh was chosen as one of the five proposal spots for a number of reasons. It’s one of the most picturesque spots across the UK, it’s steeped in mythological legend of being where King Arthur’s castle once stood, and it is one of Edinburgh’s prime natural wonders with magnificent views over the whole city.

Does this mean we’ll see an influx of couples in love to Jurys Inn’s location on 43 Jeffrey Street? I’m not sure but some of those city centre views from the hotel rooms there are pretty good.

Do you think there are locations in Edinburgh better than Arthur’s Seat for proposing in? Let us know in the comments below.
