Edinburgh Zoo’s lion club plays with Monty the dog and rabbit

June 22, 2012 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Update: June 25th 2012
Edinburgh Zoo want to distance themselves from this video. They have good reason to do so as this footage isn’t from Edinburgh Zoo after all. In addition, the zoo has a policy of keeping all animal/kepper interaction to a minimum.

Where is this footage actually from? This is from Glasgow Zoo. Glasgow Zoo closed in the early 2000s.

Even the dog part was a lie/incorrect. According to this bit of research there were two Japanese Akita hunting dogs; called Suki and Scooby.

This incredible video was possted by the Zoo YouTube channel yesterday and it shows Simba the lion club from Edinburgh Zoo.

Simba fell ill and was so was taken by the Keepers at Edinburgh Zoo. He’s better now and learnt to play not just with Monty the Dog but – remarkably – a rabbit too.

I can’t imagine Simba will continue to play with these two for many more months but hopefully Edinburgh Zoo has landed another star attraction.
