Good news for Edinburgh commuters and travellers! If youβve passed through Waverley Station recently, youβll have noticed the shutters have been down at the main Costa Coffee. Well, as of today (20th October), it has officially reopened its doors after a full refurbishment, and it’s looking fantastic.

We all know that pre-train dash can be a stressful experience, but the new-look store is designed to make grabbing your essential flat white much smoother. The old counter has been replaced with a new modern design, and they’ve installed new digital screens, all aimed at speeding up service and improving the customer experience.
Judging by the photos, the interior is much brighter and more welcoming, with the classic Costa red tiling and some new seating areas.
But the biggest news, especially for those catching the first trains of the day, is the addition of freshly baked pastries and the new opening times. The store will now be open from an eye-wateringly early 5:15am from Monday to Saturday. This is a game-changer for early-morning commuters looking for a proper coffee and a croissant before the rest of the city has woken up.
Scott Kennaway, the Area Manager for Costa Coffee, told us:
Weβre thrilled to reopen our Waverley Station store following its transformation. The refreshed space has been designed with our customers in mind, offering a more modern and comfortable environment. We look forward to welcoming everyone back, whether theyβre starting their daily commute, setting off on a journey, or simply taking a moment to relax in the station.β

So, next time you’re passing through Waverley, the newly refreshed Costa is back and ready for business.
Here are the full opening times:
- Monday β Saturday: 5:15am β 10:00pm
- Sunday: 7:30am β 8:30pm
