Review: The Golf Tavern – A historic sports pub on Bruntsfield Links

January 6, 2026 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Facing the Links, The Golf Tavern blends student vibes with 500 years of history. Great for watching the match or grabbing a burger deal. The staff are friendly, if overworked, and the Edgefield bangers are a highlight. A lively, iconic spot.

Review: The Chanter, a City Centre Sports Bar

November 13, 2025 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

The Chanter is a reliable sports bar, perfect for a quick, “cost-effective” bite before a cinema trip. Food is “pretty good” (try the mac & cheese), but the venue is noisy and the QR code menu is frustratingly incomplete.
