Review: Paul Merton and Suki Webster’s Improv Show, Fringe 2024

Paul Merton’s Impro Chums is a welcome return to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and Paul Merton, Suki Webster, Richard Vranch, Mike McShane and Kirsty Newton are in fine comedic form.

Paul Merton and his Impro Chums are always on my to-watch list for the Fringe. They’ll fill out the largest venue at the Pleasance Courtyard, every time, so book well in advance. This year we had familiar faces in the Chums; Suki Webster, Richard Vranch, Lee Simpson and Mike McShane. They’re all so good it’s […]

I always look forward to Paul Merton’s Impro Chums. This year they had competition from Clive Anderson’s What Does the Title Matter Anyway?. A battle of improvisational comedy! The Impro Chums are the same as ever – Suki Webster, Richard Vranch, Lee Simpson, Mike McShane and, of course, Paul Merton. It’s good to see the […]

It’s the same thumbnail of Impro Chums from Edinburgh Reviews’ 2012 look at the show but the line-up was different when this blogger attended the penultimate 2013 show. We had Paul Merton, of course, Suki Webster, Richard Vranch, Lee Simpson and Steve Steen. Mr Steen was new to me and he was very funny. I […]

As I waited in line for Paul Merton’s Impro Chums, around the back of the Pleasance, next to the strategically and cleverly placed new bar, I was treated to an oddball conversation about Paul Merton’s Impro Chums from a pair of Morningside Grannies. By “treated to” I mean “accidental eavesdropping” but that’s a hazard all […]
