Is This Thing On? sees Will Arnett and Laura Dern navigate a crumbling marriage with refreshing honesty. Loosely based on John Bishop’s life, it’s a mature, slightly meta dramedy about why we find it easier to confess to strangers than lovers.

Caught at a mystery screening, Mercy is a grim tech-noir about a cop accused of wife murder. Walkouts occurred due to the heavy themes, but if you enjoy Black Mirror style justice and don’t mind a predictable plot, it’s a solid rental.
