Mitch Benn is at the top of his game in this poignant and political tribute to Tom Lehrer. With sharp songwriting and a clear passion for his subject, Benn delivers an hour of validating satire that is both deeply personal and universally resonant. A must-see for fans of musical comedy.

Mitch Benn’s “The World’s Cleverest Idiot” is a clever and entertaining show filled with intelligent observations and witty songs; although not his absolute best, it still promises a good time and earns a spot on the 2025 Fringe wishlist.

Mitch Benn is a talented singer, an insightful comedian and a powerful communicator. His carefully planned set is entertaining and educational in equal measure and is one of my early highlights of Edinburgh Fringe 2023.
