Review: Pierinos, a chippy in Leith

March 31, 2026 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Winning awards for decades, Pierinos offers the best of Scottish takeaway culture. Whether you want a traditional haggis supper or a Turkish style pizza, the quality is consistent. A must-visit for anyone exploring the vibrant Leith Shore.

Review: Mother Hubbard’s, Fish and Chips at Ocean Terminal

October 21, 2025 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

A practical, clean spot with room for prams, located by the Vue cinema. Sadly, the slow service is a deal-breaker if you’re in a hurry. You’ll find better, faster fish and chips on Bernard Street.

Review: Landy’s, a smart fish & chips restaurant on North Bridge

September 21, 2025 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Landy’s on North Bridge serves up good fish and chips in a sit-down restaurant with a bar. It’s a great city centre choice, especially during busy times when you can grab a drink while you wait for a table. A solid meal in a prime location.
