A review of the Urban Jungle Brunch Room by Seb’s Urban Jungle on Leith Walk

May 15, 2022 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

A friendly cafe and plant shop, what a great combination, and an oasis of green near the urban throb of the foot of Leith Walk. It’s one I recommend.

A review of Chums, a takeaway in Leith

April 30, 2022 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Chums is a warm and friendly coffee and/or pie shop in Leith; it’s around the corner from the beaten track but worth exploring to find. It’s not had to see. Only a few minutes before that meeting? Chums will help.

A review of Passey’s, a cafe bar and bistro in Portobello

March 31, 2022 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

A fantastic small restaurant on Portobello high street that’s reason enough to visit Edinburgh’s seaside town. The food is incredible, staff friendly and the venue warm and fun. And they do coffee.

A review of Krem Karamel, an cafe bookshop in Inverleith

March 9, 2022 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Worth exploring for, Krem Karamel is a bookshop cafe in Inverleith with amazing cakes, good food, great staff and a lovely vibe. It’s new and already hugely popular.

A review of The Bearded Baker, a baker on Rodney Street

February 10, 2022 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

An absolutely delightful small-batch bakery. The freshness and quality of the small-batch is a boon in that it’s delicious and a bane in that it sells so quickly.

A review of Irish Dude Coffee & Food, a coffee shop near Leith Docks

February 8, 2022 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Clean and friendly, with good coffee and tasty sandwiches. Irish Dude Coffee & Food is around the corner from most places but is absolutely worth finding at the expense of the international coffee chains lurking across the road in Ocean Terminal.

A review of Coffee Tepuy, a coffee shop just off Leith Walk

February 7, 2022 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

If you’re on Leith Walk and searching for a coffee, you’re close enough to benefit from Coffee Tepuy’s tasty ethics. If you’re properly into coffee, you can do it properly and subscribe.

A review of Crepissimo, a crêpe cafe on Leith Walk

January 23, 2022 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Fresh, tasty and clever crêpes from a lovely little Leith cafe. The Greek influence on the menu may well give you options you’ll struggle to get anywhere else. Recommended.
