Review: Buck’s Bar: Big Chicken Burgers and Rock ‘n’ Roll on Grindlay Street

November 14, 2025 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Bucks Bar on Grindlay Street gets a top rating. While the Hanover St branch is moodier, Grindlay St wins on food. Expect huge, spicy buttermilk chicken burgers, sweet potato fries, and a fun vibe with friendly, busy staff. Save room for the cheesecake!

Review: Crybaby, a Jukebox and Chicken Wing Pub in Stockbridge

September 16, 2025 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Escape the main drag in Stockbridge at Crybaby, a friendly bar serving thousands of chicken wings and Smashburgers. With a jukebox controlling the screens and a “no crybabies” attitude, it’s a refreshingly different and affordable spot.

Review: ChicKing, a fried chicken restaurant in Leith

September 22, 2023 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

A halal KFC-style franchise from the UAE with friendly staff, an expansive menu of chicken options and, when I went, teething troubles.
