Review: Nuns! – Fringe 2026

Set in medieval Bavaria, it follows the devout Sister Gertrude as she sets out to rid the convent of witches, sin and temptation, all while grappling with temptations of her own.

From the opening moments, it was clear this wasn’t a production interested in playing things straight. Instead, it throws itself headfirst into fast-paced physical comedy, wonderfully ridiculous characters and an infectious energy that quickly spreads through the audience.

Before long, the room was in stitches, and it became one of those Fringe shows that feels like it could be recommended to just about anyone.

Comedy

From the opening moments to the final curtain, this is a laugh-a-minute production that embraces chaos in the very best way. Every joke lands thanks to sharp comic timing, physical comedy and a cast who know exactly how to work a Fringe audience. The laughter is constant, making it one of those rare shows where your cheeks genuinely ache from smiling by the end.

Storyline

The story itself is a witty following of a witchhunt with its own sense of commardery, and you are taken along the journey as the main characters travel through weird and wonderful places, meeting interesting and unique characters along the way. Never knowing what trouble they may encounter.
