Mario the Maker Magician brings so much energy to the stage. From the moment the show starts, he is constantly on the move, running around the stage, jumping into the audience and interacting with the children. It feels much more like being part of the action than simply watching a magic show.
High-energy magic & mayhem
There is a really fun, slightly wacky quality to Mario’s performance. He’s from New York and definitely brings that big personality and energetic style with him, but it works brilliantly for children. He is a little crazy and unpredictable in the best possible way, and you never quite know what he’s going to do next.
There was so much laughing throughout the show, from both the children and the adults. He doesn’t just perform tricks from the stage either; he gets right amongst the audience, which keeps the children completely engaged. At one point he even sprayed water over the audience, which caused plenty of excitement and laughter!
A brilliant show for kids
Mario is clearly very good with children. He knows exactly how to get their attention and, more importantly, how to keep it. There was a constant sense of interaction, with the audience encouraged to get involved rather than just sit and watch.
The energy never seemed to drop, and there was always something happening. Mario running around the audience, interacting with the children and bringing his magic right up close made the whole experience feel really exciting and spontaneous.

The ending was a lovely touch too, with clown noses given out to the children. It meant they got to take a little bit of the silliness home with them, and my little boy really enjoyed that.
My little boy absolutely loved the show. He was laughing throughout and really enjoyed Mario’s funny, energetic style. It’s the kind of show where you can tell the performer genuinely enjoys entertaining children, and that comes across in the way he interacts with them.
Overall
A 5-star Fringe show for us. Mario the Maker Magician is full of energy, completely engaging and brilliantly silly without ever losing the attention of the children. His New York personality gives the show a slightly wacky edge, but it works perfectly and makes him really entertaining to watch.
The fact that he gets off the stage and runs around the audience makes such a difference. There’s so much interaction, laughter and unexpected silliness, including spraying water over the audience, that the children are constantly wondering what’s going to happen next.
Most importantly, my little boy really enjoyed it, and there was so much laughter from the children around us too. Mario is clearly incredibly comfortable performing for young audiences and has a real talent for making children feel involved.
A brilliantly energetic, funny and interactive magic show that I would definitely recommend for families.
