Review: Amazing Bubble Man, Fringe 2026

If you’re involved at all in the care of a young child then you know that there is one universally beloved thing…. BUBBLES! Add in some excellent showmanship, cool science facts and you have the fantastic show that is Amazing Bubble Man.

Background

Louis Pearl entered the bubble game many moons ago developing toys and tools for creating bubble magic and his expertise definitely shines through throughout the show. Luckily for fringe-goers, he realised that his true calling was as a showman and bubble-maker rather than a toy developer and voila, 18 years ago an iconic fringe show was born.

What to expect

If attending an ‘amazing bubble show’ wasn’t exciting enough on its own, imagine the extra level of excitement for little ones (and adults too!) of it taking place inside a giant inflatable cow at the Underbelly George Square venue.

The show is a wonderful blend of fun and learning with bubbles of all shapes, sizes and colours with science facts looped in. The cosy atmosphere within the venue gives a real audience participation and involvement feel to the show and makes the experience extra captivating.

Amazing Bubble Man demonstrates how anything can be used to create bubbles and that there is more to the creation of bubbles than meets the eye. Within the show there are large and small bubbles, smoke filled bubbles, people eating bubbles (its true, you’ll see when you visit the show!) and even caterpillar and snowmen and women bubbles.

The show sparks your inner creative of all the items around the house that can be used to make a bubble spectacular and Louis is ever so kind to share his secret bubble recipe so you can make at home. So it’s a money saving show as well as money well spent.

My toddler’s favourite moment was when light play came into the equation and we got to watch multicoloured illuminated bubbles floating around the arena- quite magical through the eyes of both a three-year-old and his mum!

Overall

There’s no question why the Amazing Bubble Man has been sold out for the past 13 festivals. Its funny, totally captivating and even a bit of a learning experience for adults and littles alike.

From babes in arms to grandparents, there was not a single moment of boredom for any member of the audience and with the unpredictability of bubbles, no two shows will be the same so you can bet we will be back bubbling away again another day!
