The original voice of the Pokémon theme song, Jason Paige, is set to make his first-ever Scottish appearance in Edinburgh this week. Presented by PokeCards and The Scotland Card Show, the visit arrives at a significant moment for the franchise. The Pokémon Company is currently in the midst of its global 30th anniversary celebrations, having recently unveiled the next major chapter in the series, Pokémon Wind, which is expected to dominate gaming discussions throughout the year.

The Green Room Wine Bar on 6 March

The event takes place at The Green Room Wine Bar on William Street, situated in Edinburgh’s stylish West End. Activities commence at 1:00 PM, featuring a blend of live acoustic performances by Paige, meet and greet sessions, and autograph signings.

Fans are encouraged to bring their own Pokémon trading cards and collectables for signing. The Pokecards Shop will also be on-site, offering exclusive merchandise and rare items to mark the occasion. This session provides a rare, close-quarters environment for enthusiasts to interact with a key figure from the show’s early history.

Things to do in the West End

William Street is a picturesque, cobbled hub of independent retail and hospitality, located just a short distance from major transport links. For those travelling from across Scotland or further afield, the most efficient route is via rail. Visitors can easily access the venue from Haymarket Station, which is just a few minutes away on foot and serves as a major gateway for those arriving from across the country.

If you are planning to make a weekend of the 30th anniversary celebrations, there are several high-quality accommodation options nearby. You can browse local guest houses and boutique hotels on Booking.com or check for deals on Hotels.com.

The area is also renowned for its culinary scene. Before the music starts, you might visit one of the local artisan bakeries or book a table for a post-event meal at a nearby bistro. If you have time to explore, the West End is home to several galleries and speciality hobby shops that align perfectly with the day’s geek culture theme.

    For your Radar

This appearance by Jason Paige is a major milestone for the Scottish Pokémon community. Coming amidst the momentum of the 30th anniversary and the hype surrounding Pokémon Wind, it offers a unique opportunity to celebrate the franchise’s origins in a local, intimate setting.
