That’s right, the UK’s biggest touring food and music festival, affectionately known as ‘Gastro-Glastonbury’, started here in Edinburgh in 2005. Two decades later, it’s coming home with a bang, promising an unforgettable three days packed with celebrity chefs, chart-topping music, and brand-new foodie experiences.

Star-Studded Kitchen Action

The Chefs Theatre line-up includes several high-profile chefs. We’ll see live cooking demos from top names, including:

  • Gary Maclean: Scotland’s National Chef and MasterChef Champion.
  • The Hebridean Baker: Best-selling author and familiar face from ITV’s This Morning.
  • Ben Palmer: Winner of Great British Menu 2024.
  • Jak O’Donnell: Great British Menu star.
  • Dean Banks: MasterChef: The Professionals finalist from The Pompadour.
  • Derek McMillan: Chef from Michelin-starred Condita.
  • Barry Bryson: Events Chef of the Year (Barry Fish).
  • Rohan Wadke: MasterChef: The Professionals contestant.

They’ll be sharing tips, tricks, and signature dishes. Plus, the Cake & Desserts Theatre will be whipping up showstoppers, and the little ones can get hands-on in the Kids Cookery School.

Music Headliners

Alongside the food, the festival features a strong music line-up. This year’s headliners include:

  • Scouting For Girls: Expect high energy and all their massive hits!
  • The Wanted 2.0: Max George and Siva Kaneswaren bring the next chapter of the iconic pop band.
  • Symphonic Ibiza: A stunning fusion of dance anthems with a live orchestra and DJ.

What’s New for the 20th Anniversary?

To mark the big 2-0, Foodies is introducing some exciting new features:

  • Great Taste Market: Discover award-winning food and drink producers.
  • Tasting Theatre: Embark on themed tasting adventures – think spicy challenges or mystery pairings!
  • International Cook School: Learn new techniques from top chefs and cook a dish to take away.

Other Festival Attractions

Food

Beyond the main stages and theatres, other areas and activities include:

  • Drinks Theatre: Tutored tastings of Champagne, beer, cocktails, and wine with experts like Diana Thompson (Wine Events Scotland) and Rose Murray Brown (Master of Wine).
  • Shopping Village & Artisan Market: Browse food trends and meet local producers.
  • Feasting Tent: Sample street food from around the globe.
  • Fire Stage: Watch BBQ masters work their magic.
