If you are looking for inspiration for plant-based living or just need to get your festive gift buying sorted, the Edinburgh Vegan Christmas Festival is returning to the city next week.

Vegan Events UK is bringing the event back to the Edinburgh College Granton Campus on Saturday, 29th November. It runs from 10.30am to 4.30pm.

    Ethical gifts under one roof

The festival aims to showcase just how varied compassionate living can be. It is not just for vegans. Vegetarians, flexitarians, and the vegan-curious are all welcome to explore sustainable fashion, delicious cakes, and animal welfare charities.

Festival organiser Victoria Bryceson says, “Join us at the Edinburgh Vegan Christmas Festival for an ultimate Christmas shopping experience where many vegan products and services can be found in one place.”

Local favourites are set to make an appearance. You can look forward to hand-crafted doughnuts and dairy-free chocolate from Edinburgh’s own Considerit. If you prefer something savoury, Heriot Hott will be there with their diverse range of hot sauces, which use ingredients grown close to home to reduce carbon footprints.

For those looking for unique gifts, Chione Crafts will be selling original watercolour artworks by local artist Lianne Allen. There are plenty of options for animal lovers as well. FIDO luxury no-meat dog treats from Kirkcaldy will be available, alongside stalls supporting Miracle’s Mission, a charity dedicated to helping sick and disabled animals.

    Things to do in Granton

The festival is taking place at the Edinburgh College Granton Campus. While Granton is a little out of the city centre, it is becoming a hub of activity and is easily accessible.

If you are travelling from outside Edinburgh to attend, National Express offers coach links to the main bus station in the city centre. From there, the Lothian Buses network can get you down to the waterfront.

For those making a weekend of it, the Village Hotel Edinburgh is located nearby on Crewe Road South. It offers a gym, pool, and comfortable rooms, placing you just a short drive or taxi ride from the festival venue.

Locals will know that Morrisons has a large superstore right next door on Waterfront Broadway. It is handy if you need to pick up the boring weekly essentials before heading into the festival for the fun stuff.
