A review of Truffle Shuffle’s Pusheen doormat

September 14, 2021 by Andrew Girdwood Leave a Comment

Is £15 good value or not for a doormat? It feels like the sort of item, like toilet seats; you never think about how much it might cost until that one time.

I content that the £15 I paid for the Pusheen doormat at Truffle Shuffle is excellent value is that I was looking at doormats on Etsy for twice, even thrice, the cost and then that much again in shipping.

As noted in my review of Clockwork Removals, I’m alone in a new apartment after a break-up. I wanted to make this new place my home. I needed to make the physical space firmly mine, and turning up the geek rating to maximum is the way I do that. A geeky doormat was always going to happen.

Pusheen is a viral success, and I’m sure there’s a truckload of knock-off and rip-off items out there. Good news if you want to support original creators; this Pusheen doormat is licensed.

Even better news when it comes to the actual mat itself. It’s robust! I’ve literally had heavy-footed removal men and all sorts of workers stamp all over this poor cat. Pusheen is as bold and happy as ever.

The anti-slip bottom is good but not enough to stop the stairwell cleaner and their vacuum from knocking it out of place. First world problem, right?
The 60cm x 40cm size is the right size.

Perhaps most importantly, the mat is a brush you can wipe your feet on. This is a practical mat, not just a decoration.

Do you know how delivery drivers now photograph your package dropped by your door? Mine is now memorable. Drivers know my doorway cannot be mistaken for any other.

I’I’m hugely pleased with this “Hi” welcome out my front door. Everyone should come home to a friendly, cheeky cat who looks delighted to see them.

Just one note of admin. I’m pretty sure I saw Truffle Shuffle call Pusheen an exclusive and that it sold out. It doesn’t claim that today and I notice Red Candy have it too; a little more expensive there, though.
