Are we Edinburgh influencers?

Edinburgh-Reviews.co.uk is older than the term “influencer” as it’s used in the new common text, and the blog’s founder, Andrew Girdwood, does have a problem with it. It’s not a big problem; it’s just that the word is overused, used by people with no influence, and that there are better alternatives.

There are influencers in Edinburgh, including traditional journalists, social media tastemakers, and content creators. Bronwen Winter Phoenix, the co-owner of Edinburgh Reviews, is a creator. She’s a contemporary artist who paints who paints and creates – with a past life as an experienced journalist and an Award-nominated fiction author.

Girdy (Andrew) and Birdy (Bronwen) write to share their opinions – which cannot be bought.

The result of this is that Edinburgh-Reviews.co.uk might be better thought of as a publisher. Blog posts last longer than TikTok videos, although it’s not a competition, and we’re on social media too. Which social networks can you find us on?

  • Instagram
  • TikTok
  • BlueSky
  • Mastodon
  • Facebook
  • Threads
  • X, for our sins.

We do know and can introduce some more typical Edinburgh Influencers, if you prefer, but consider us for your projects as well. We find the multi-platform approach is the best way to reach communities and networks of interest.
